A former Scottish Daily Mirror journalist is reported saying he considers himself to be an 'endangered species' on account of writing a blog about being a dad.
Craig McGill writes www.scottish-blogger-dad.com and was extensively featured in yesterday's Scotland on Sunday magazine, Spectrum. He left the Mirror six years ago and is now a social media consultant.
Writes Janet Christie, the rise of blogs about being a dad is modest compared to those about being a mum.
She quotes McGill, as saying: “Blogging has gone mainstream now, but there aren't that many Scots dads doing it. I'm an endangered species. Down south they have one-day events for blogging mums. Anyone trying to plan the dad one has got as far as 'Let's meet in the pub at 5pm'.”
Contently Managed provides social media for businesses and is currently celebrating helping take whisky firm, Whyte & Mackay, past one million YouTube views at the weekend.
