Record Publisher Announces New Digital Appointment

The publisher of the Daily Record and Sunday Mail newspapers has announced that “one of the UK's leading authorities on search engine optimisation” is to lead the development of its digital products, including www.dailyrecord.co.uk

Malcolm Coles has been appointed to the newly-created role of Product Director, Digital for Trinity Mirror's Nationals Division.

Says the company: “Malcolm will be responsible for the digital product strategy and the development of existing and new digital products for the division. He will also be responsible for external relationships with key digital technology partners – such as Facebook – and the development of third party developer partnerships.

“For the past four years, he has worked as a consultant advising major global brands and publishers with their digital content strategy and is a regarded as one of the UK's leading authorities on search engine optimisation.

“Before that he spent 11 years at Which?. In his time there he was editor of Which? Online, Which? Magazine and was the launch editor of Which? Computer – now the UK’s largest selling computing magazine.”

A company statement further quotes Chris Ellis, Managing Director Digital of the Trinity Mirror’s Nationals Division, as saying: “Delivering great product and technology, combined with our unique content, is at the heart of our growth plans. It is terrific that we've been able to attract someone of Malcolm's calibre to the team. He will be a real asset and I’m delighted that he is joining us.”
