Inspirational advice from marketing luminaries is now available on iPhones and iPads with the launch of a new app.
The app, created by the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA), is designed to help marketing strategists plan their advertising campaigns by offering tips from the industry’s heavy-hitters.
The advice can be rated and ranked, shared online and users can add their own guidance for others to read, with the aim of creating a global resource for the marketing community.
Nicola Mendelsohn, president of IPA and executive chairman and partner of Karmarama said: “As I pledged in my inaugural speech, my aim is to create a new generation of creative pioneers by developing better skills and creating better connections.
“This app will address both of these areas; by sharing advice through technology on an industry-wide and global scale, ultimately we will become smarter and more valuable to our clients.”
Her own advice, available through the new app, reads: “Choose an enemy, work out how they would destroy your brand and what your counterattack would be.”
It can be found among others from major figures like Jim Carroll, UK chairman of advertising agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty and The Times editor James Harding, whose tip reads: “Decide your objective, then work backwards from it, determining where you will need to be at each stage in order to reach your goal.”
