THE creative director at the agency behind a breast cancer TV advert – featuring actress, Elaine C Smith – has said he a “bold solution” was needed and, he thinks, found.
Gerry Farrell, from Edinburgh-based Leith Agency, writes in today’s Scotsman newspaper about the making of the advert, which screened last night and has Smith showing images of breasts affected by cancer.
He also says: “We didn’t want this to be a dull public announcement. We used humour, getting Elaine to comment on one of the images that they were ‘Three kids later ones’. That was important, to show empathy and understanding.”
