A COLLABORATION between TV station, STV, and the Daily Record newspaper is to see both offering advertisers access to a joint editorial initiative to choose Scotland’s greatest-ever person.
A half-hour programme on STV on St Andrews Day is set to reveal the nation’s Greatest Scot, and, during the preceding weeks, both it and the Daily Record will be devoting significant amounts of editorial to the search, including a week-long series of programmes on STV, from Monday November 9 to the following Friday.
And the combined effort is being offered to prospective advertisers an ‘one-stop solution’ to capturing a potentially huge audience.
Says Daily Record publishers, Trinity Mirror: “The combined package will allow advertisers the opportunity to reach over 80 per cent of all adults in Scotland and to participate in one of the most heavily promoted media events of 2009. There are a limited number of packages available, with one already signed up and several close to confirmation.”
Adds David Connolly, commercial director at STV: “This is a very exciting offering from STV and Daily Record. Both parties recognised that an editorial and commercial partnership would give the event real presence and deliver a powerful vehicle for brands looking to make an impact in Scotland in the lead up to St. Andrew’s Day.”
Continues Denise West, advertising director for the Daily Record: “It’s great to be able to bring something new to the marketplace. The combined strength of Scotland’s leading media brands coupled with the joint planning that has gone into this venture will ensure that there is an unrivalled high profile package for advertisers to take advantage of this November.”
