BEGINS The Drum media and marketing magazine: “Audioboom, the digital social media platform, has signed a content deal with Amazon subsidiary, Audible.

“The deal will see showcasing of Audible content as part of the automated ‘feed’ of audio delivered on a genre-by-genre, region-by-region basis.”

BEGINS the website, MediaTel.co.uk: “The Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) has announced the launch of an iPhone app which will allow advertising creatives to produce ‘demo’ radio ads on their smartphone.

“The Aerials EarApp, which is free to download, will allow users to record and time radio scripts, add sound effects and share ads via email from their mobile devices.”

THE funeral of sports writer, Norman Mair – who died just over a week ago (as noted, here), aged 86 – is taking place today, in Edinburgh.

A public memorial service will be taking place at Merchiston Castle School at 2pm.

Says the Scottish Rugby website: “The family has respectfully asked that a charitable donation be made to Alzheimer Scotland instead of the giving of flowers.”

BEGINS the website, journalism.co.uk: “A study by the think tank, Demos, earlier this year revealed female journalists receive roughly three times as much abuse on Twitter as their male counterparts.

“Demos analysed more than two million tweets sent to celebrities, politicians, musicians and journalists over a two-week period. Journalism was the only category where women were more likely to be on the receiving end of Twitter abuse than men.”

And the website goes on to feature three women, who discuss their experience of abuse and how they handled it.
