Your Noon Briefing: STV Glasgow, Castle FM, etc

A DEBATE about the STV-operated local TV station serving Glasgow is being held this evening, hosted by the Scotland branch of the Royal Television Society.

Says the RTS: “STV Glasgow is approaching its half-year anniversary and STV Edinburgh is about to be launched. What better time to consider the story of STV Glasgow’s success and what the future holds for the capital?”

STV Glasgow is being operated in association with Glasgow Caledonian University, while STV Edinburgh will involve Edinburgh Napier University.

Lined up to take part in the debate – being chaired by former STV presenter, Angus Simpson – is channel editor (STV Glasgow and STV Edinburgh) Paul Hughes; head of consumer insights at STV, Kathleen Wiseman; and commercial manager (STV Glasgow and STV Edinburgh), Paul Genasi.

The event is free to attend. For more details, click here.

“The incident happened after Ofcom recorded breaches by the station, including failure to provide the licensed service. The station was on notice that if similar compliance issues arose in future, further regulatory action could be taken.”
