Your Noon Briefing: Media appointments at Police Scotland, new magazine launching, etc

THE former head of communications at Central Scotland Police – before it became last year part of the single Police Scotland – has been named head of news at the new entity.

Andrew Walker’s appointment follows the restructuring of the corporate communications function at the single Scotland-wide policing service.

Walker is joined by Gillian Main, former marketing manager at Strathclyde Police, who has been appointed head of Marketing and Digital Media; Kevin O’Hare, former head of Communications at Fife Constabulary, who has been appointed corporate communications manager; and Becky Hunter, former media manager at Strathclyde Police, who has been appointed Local Policing communications manager for the North, based in Aberdeen.

Police Scotland is currently recruiting for a number of posts in the new department, as recently advertised on allmediascotland.

Andrew’s and Gillian’s appointments have begun with immediate effect and all other appointments will take effect over the Summer as recruitment continues.

PS Your Noon Briefing is a relatively new venture for allmediascotland.com. We are no longer going to report news, story-by-story. Instead, we are going to find content we hope will be useful, in the belief it will prove to be a more comprehensive service.
