AND firstly, congratulations to Carole Erskine, appointed as a political reporter at STV. She was previously an assistant producer on the broadcaster’s Scotland Tonight show. She will be working alongside Bernard Ponsonby and Claire Stewart on coverage of the upcoming Scots independence referendum.

CONGRATULATIONS too to Mark Latham, appointed deputy business editor at the Sunday Herald newspaper.
It’s understood he will start his new role next month following six years in Brussels, where he worked as a staff reporter for European Voice, a freelance reporter for various titles and carried out external communications work for the European Commission.
He succeeds Steven Vass, now Scots editor of The Conversation website.

LAST week, allmediascotland.com reported several changes at The Sunday Post newspaper, including the appointment of Iain Harris, as assistant editor.

AND also last week, it was reported that Laura Miller had been named the anchor of STV’s Edinburgh and East of Scotland early evening news bulletin.

FINALLY, good luck to Jenna Conti, who has taken up a new job, with Inverness-based PR outfit, Lucid.
She has joined from the Highland News newspaper, where she was chief reporter. Her successor is Eilidh Davies, who was a reporter with the paper.
Conti was named Reporter of the Year at the Highlands and Islands Media Awards last year.
