BROADCASTER, STV, is on the hunt for presenters for a new, city-based TV channel it is launching in June.
The channel – being set up for Glasgow and in conjunction with Glasgow Caledonian University – is one of two planned for next year by STV, the other being for Edinburgh.
Ahead of the launch of STV Glasgow in June 2014, STV is looking for budding television presenters to launch the brand new channel.
And, says STV: “The new channel is hiring for a number of key television roles including a weather presenter, presenters, reporters and producers.”
A STV media release quotes Paul Hughes, channel editor for STV Glasgow, as saying: “The new channel will be an engaging, informative media service for Scotland’s largest city and these new roles provide fantastic opportunities for enthusiastic people who want to be involved in the launch of a brand new television station.
“The channel will interact with community groups from across the city and reflect everything that goes on within Glasgow on a daily basis. This is an exciting launch of a new platform for the people of Glasgow and we want our staff to be as lively and vibrant as the city itself.”
The new Glasgow and Edinburgh channels will be available on Freeview and Sky.
