THE Scottish Sun website is to feature clips from the Scottish Premiership men’s football league, plus from matches featuring League One club, Rangers.
The service – which is to be also available on the websites of the paper’s sister titles, The Times and The Sunday Times – follows publishers, News UK, securing rights to broadcast matches from south of the border, including the English Premiership.
Access to the Scots clips will be either via codes printed in The Scottish Sun or via a paywall.
Editor of The Scottish Sun, Andy Harries, is quoted by the paper, as saying: “As the brilliant Sun+ Goals app has shown, fans love seeing the action almost as soon as it’s happened, as well as half-time and full-time highlights long before they’re available on TV.
“Now Sun+ members will be able to watch the very best of Scottish football, along with the goals from every Barclays Premier League game, on their tablets and smartphones.
“And they can get all this for free by collecting our unique codes printed daily in The Scottish Sun newspaper. One code unlocks one month’s free trial.”
A News UK media release continues: “The first Scottish Premiership action will be available via the newspapers’ websites for fixtures later this month and rolled out to smart phones and tablets later in the season.
“This is part of an ongoing strategy to build on the award-winning journalism of our titles by integrating with enhanced and compelling digital content.”
