THE director of an organisation involved in skills training among Scotland’s creative industries has turned his hand to being creative himself – and his self-published novel, in Kindle edition form, is available until Sunday for free.
The Unfaithful Seven has been available online since January and its author – Alasdair Smith, Scotland director of Creative Skillset – describes it as “a comedy crime caper set in Glasgow”.
“I wanted to write something that I would enjoy taking on holiday,” he says. “And I liked the idea of an ensemble piece with a cast of different characters all clashing over a common goal.”
He continues: “The plot mixes bribery and corruption, crooked councillors, dodgy property developers and shady underworld club owners with the biggest pub crawl ever put on page.”
Ordinarily, the novel retails for 99p.
