THE Dundee-based magazine, The People’s Friend, has been named sponsors of afternoon programmes on ITV3.
The sponsorship, beginning on Monday, sees the magazine – founded in 1869 and a mix of short-stories, serial fiction, craft projects and factual articles – hook up with ITV’s ‘home of drama collections’, including Poirot, A Touch of Frost and Rising Damp.
In a media statement issued by the magazine publishers, DC Thomson, Ellis Watson, CEO of the company’s publishing division, is quoted, as saying:“The People’s Friend and ITV3 are ideal partners. The People’s Friend is synonymous with great storytelling and our short-stories and serial fiction content will complement the treasured and timeless drama aired by ITV3 admirably.
“We’re confident that this partnership, which is indicative of the committed marketing investment in our magazine titles, gives The People’s Friend an unmatched opportunity to engage with our current readers and with potential readers from the ITV3 audience in a relevant and interesting way.”
