THE BBC Scotland presenter, Catriona Shearer, is returning to her former university to talk about getting her big break in journalism.
The Reporting Scotland newsreader is appearing at Edinburgh Napier’s ‘Media Mondays’, a series of talks open to both students and the general public.
Shearer graduated with a BA(hons) in Journalism from Edinburgh Napier ten years ago.
She has previously worked on BBC Radio 5 live’s breakfast show and presented a sports programme for BBC Radio Wales in Cardiff. Prior to her current role at BBC Scotland, she worked as a radio producer and as a travel reporter on BBC Radio Scotland’s Good Morning Scotland.
In December, Shearer was honoured at an awards ceremony, ‘The Napiers’, set up as part of ‘Media Mondays’, where Edinburgh Napier journalism students awarded her the title of ‘Alumni of the Year’.
