A TV advertising campaign to promote Scotland’s ‘natural beauty’ is to begin screening in Scotland on Friday, as part of an international promotion, including North America, Germany and France.
The campaign – involving a £3.4million spend by tourism agency, VisitScotland – is on behalf of Year of Natural Scotland 2013, with the advert being transmitted on Friday during STV’s Great Night Out. From next week, it will be also shown before screenings of the movie, Les Miserables, in cinemas.
In a VisitScotland media release, VisitScotland chair, Mike Cantlay, is quoted, as saying: “Our new advert shows the country in all its majestic glory, ranging from wildlife to exciting outdoor activities.”
And tourism minister Fergus Ewing MSP is further quoted, as saying: “The new advert that VisitScotland has put together shows off our country at its very best and I’m sure that majestic scenes that are depicted will entice as many people as possible to come and visit Scotland during the Year of Natural Scotland.”
The Year of Natural Scotland campaign is also including a ticket giveaway.
Says VisitScotland, at least 15,000 people will be given free tickets to discover Scotland by train this Spring as part of what has been dubbed ‘Big April Adventures’, courtesy of ScotRail and Caledonian MacBrayne. Stagecoach will be also offering money-off vouchers.
