THE funeral of a young presenter and researcher at the BBC – who died suddenly, at the age of 25 – has been set for Saturday.
Yesterday, allmediascotland reported the death of Diane Morrison, who, among other things, presented the Dè tha Dol, what’s on programme on BBC ALBA.
The Gaelic language presenter was based at BBC Scotland’s Stornoway office.
In a staff memo, Roy Templeton, head of communications at BBC Scotland, wrote: “Friends and colleagues in BBC Scotland are this week mourning the loss of Diane Morrison, who died of a heart attack on Sunday night.
“Diane, aged 25, worked at the BBC’s Stornoway base and presented, researched and contributed to the range of radio and television programmes produced there.
“Diane had a keen and active interest in sport, music and in the Gaelic language and culture. These passions brought her in contact with a wide range of communities who will feel her loss deeply.
“Our sincere and heartfelt sympathies go to her sister, Karen, also a BBC colleague, and to her parents Murdo and Catherine.”
The funeral service for Diane will take place at 11.30am on Saturday, in The Free Church, Kenneth Street, in Stornoway, with a wake having taken place the evening before, from 9pm.
