A TV documentary – following former Armed Forces personnel who have ended up in prison – is reportedly to be made in Scotland.
Reports Gavin Docherty, in the Scottish Daily Express today, the director of programmes at Channel 5 unveiled the plans yesterday at the MediaGuardian Edinburgh International Television Festival.
Jeff Ford is quoted, as saying: “About 13 per cent of all prisoners are now ex-Armed Forces. We are going to look at why that is. We have got unique access obviously to soldiers who trust [documentary filmmaker, Chris Terrill]. It is a story that needs to be told.”
Writes Docherty: “Talks are under way with the Scottish Prison Service about filming the new series in one of its jails.”
