THE weather presenter on STV is to cycle from Glasgow to Edinburgh, to raise funds for the broadcaster’s charity.
The STV Appeal raises money for children and young people in Scotland affected by poverty, with whatever is raised being match-funded, £-for-£, by the Scottish Government.
And joining Sean Batty will be his dog, Jock.
The duo will depart Glasgow a fortnight on Friday – the 24th of this month – to arrive in time for Jock to take part a canine agility challenge at the Scottish Kennel Club Show in Edinburgh the next day.
In a STV media release, Batty is quoted, as saying: “I have driven from Glasgow to Edinburgh many times but never cycled the route so I jumped at the chance to take on this challenge for the STV Appeal. Last year I cycled from Stornoway to Lochboisdale to raise awareness and funds for children and young people affected by poverty in Scotland and it’s fantastic that this year Jock is helping with the fund raising efforts. We hope to see people out supporting us along the way and I’m sure Jock will be a star of the show at the Scottish Kennel Club Show.”
