THE Scottish Football League is reportedly inviting bids from TV broadcasters to screen 25 live games involving Rangers who, following their recent liquidation, will be playing next season in the fourth tier of Scottish football: the SFL Third Division.
Says BBC Scotland’s chief football reporter, Chris McLaughlin: “The Scottish Football League has approached broadcasters with a package to show up to 25 live Rangers matches in Division Three next season.
“However, any deal cannot be finalised until the Scottish FA grant membership to the newco club.
“The SFL’s media representative IMG, is inviting bids from interested parties, with a closing date of Monday.
“The proposed deal includes the opportunity to broadcast all 18 of Rangers’ away league matches.”
Meanwhile, today’s Daily Record is reporting that Gaelic language channel, BBC ALBA, is to screen, live, an upcoming Ramsdens Cup tie between Brechin City and Rangers.
