THE stories of six Scots competing in the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games are to be featured in a documentary being aired by STV.
‘The Scots Going for Gold’ are swimmer Craig Benson, 3000 metre steeplechase athlete Eilish McColgan, lightweight boxer Josh Taylor, handball player Lynn McCafferty, canoeist Tim Baillie and wheelchair rugby player Mike Kerr.
The programme airs a week on Wednesday – on the 25th – at 8pm.
It is being narrated by Scots actor, Iain Glen.
In a STV media release, Elizabeth Partyka, deputy director of channels at STV, is quoted, as saying: “The Scots Going for Gold is entertaining, informative and hugely uplifting – a great showcase for six of the best athletes Scotland has to offer. When the eyes of the sporting world are upon us, The Scots Going for Gold allows our viewers to see exactly how tough the journey to being selected to represent Great Britain at the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games was for both the athletes and their loved ones.”
