THE BBC Radio Scotland presenter, Iain Anderson, is reportedly safe from the axe as part of a schedule shake-up due for later this year.
Says today’s Scotsman newspaper, the BBC has confirmed Anderson’s late-night show will be recommissioned “after production company, Bees Knees, won a battle to keep his slot in the schedule”.
BBC Radio Scotland is planning to have more speech-based programmes during the day and music ones in the evening. Anderson’s programme is music.
The Scotsman’s report also confirms allmediascotland’s understanding last week that two presenters whose music shows are being chopped – Janice Forsyth and Mary Ann Kennedy – are “to be offered alternative shows”.
The report quotes a BBC spokesperson as saying: “We will be talking to both [Forsyth and Kennedy] about other programmes. We still very much see them as part of the Radio Scotland family of presenters. We would like them to keep presenting music-based shows.”
