THE parent company of broadcasters, STV, has announced a new member of its board.
Genevieve Shore will be joining the board of STV Group plc, as a non-executive director, on March 1. She will replace Matthew Peacock who resigned as non-executive director today, having served on the board since February 2007.
Says STV: “Genevieve Shore’s career includes extensive digital, technology and commercial experience in the media, publishing and technology sectors.
“Genevieve currently sits on the management board of Pearson plc, reporting to Marjorie Scardino, as chief information officer and director of digital strategy of Pearson plc. Previously Genevieve has held leadership roles with Pearson Group including global digital director, Penguin, and group sales sirector, Penguin.”
In the STV statement, chair, Richard Findlay, is quoted as saying: “I am delighted to welcome Genevieve Shore to the STV board. The company is now firmly established as an innovative consumer facing digital content business and Genevieve’s expertise in developing new digital products and services will be invaluable as we progress the next phase of our growth strategy. I would also like to thank Matthew for his significant contribution to the turnaround of STV Group and for his input and counsel to the board during his tenure.”
