IT will have certainly added spice for some viewers of STV’s Scotland Tonight news and current affairs show.
As splashed across The Scottish Sun today, while a debate was going on last night about Labour leader, Ed Miliband, there was spied footage of a raunchy scene from, it is understood, the Channel 4 drama series, Shameless.
A split-second shot of woman “bonking”, as one viewer described it on the tabloid’s front page, appeared on a TV screen in the background of a live video link to political blogger, Dan Hodge, who was speaking from ITN’s London HQ.
A viewer is quoted by journalist, Robert McAulay, as saying: “It certainly brightened things up. Maybe they should introduce this into a few more political programmes.”
The tale – labelled ‘exclusive’ – is headed: ‘Have I Got Nudes for You’.
The Daily Record also has the story – also labelled, ‘exclusive’ – on page nine, under the heading, ‘The Nudes at Sex o’Clock’.
A STV spokeswoman is quoted as saying: “We hope viewers weren’t too distracted by the unexpected and incidental content on the show.”
