Yesterday's horrible weather – dubbed 'Hurricane Bawbag' – resulted in a record numbers of visits to the website of STV.
Says the broadcaster, total unique browsers hit 556,000, 111 per cent higher than STV’s previous record of 263,000 during last year's Big Freeze. By way of comparison, the average number of daily unique browsers for November was 151,000.
The website saw almost two million page impressions, which was 125 per cent ahead of its previous best of 856,000 in December last year. The average number of daily page impressions on the STV website in November was 574,000.
Total videos views reached a new, one-day high of 405,000. The River Clyde camera recorded the most streams with 61,000, with the Top Ten videos all weather-related.
Meanwhile, STV’s news programme, STV News at Six, also achieved a record audience, of almost 800,000 viewers, some 37 per cent of the audience share.
