The period drama, Downton Abbey, is to be aired by STV.
Says STV, series one and two are to be broadcast as part of its Autumn schedule.
Downton Abbey was controversially not broadcast in Scotland when it was being shown throughout the rest of the UK last year, as part of an opting-out policy that saw the Glasgow broadcaster transmit instead mainly home-grown produce.
Series one will air at 9pm on Sundays starting on the seventh of next month. Series two will follow on Sundays at 9pm beginning on September 18.
In a STV media release, Bobby Hain, managing director of Channels at STV, is quoted, as saying: “We’re delighted to bring viewers the first airing of series one of Downton Abbey in Scotland and the much anticipated second series as part of our autumn schedule. Downton Abbey has proven to be a hugely popular drama and we very much hope our viewers enjoy it.”
