The head of drama at BBC Scotland has been appointed in a similar role at Sky Television, after five years in the post.
Anne Mensah has overseen numerous highly-acclaimed drama productions that have been given a network, UK-wide airing, including Single Father, Lip Service, Wallander, Waterloo Road and, soon to transmit, Case Histories and Young James.
Says a memo to staff from Donalda MacKinnon, the BBC's Head of Programmes Scotland: “Anne has ensured the continuing success of BBC Scotland's own popular drama, River City and has delivered some exciting Scotland-only commissions, most recently Field of Blood which concludes on BBC One this evening.
“She has brought huge creative energy and ambition to BBC Scotland's Drama and has shown great commitment to developing and nurturing exciting Scottish talent. I should like to thank her for everything she has done over the last five years and wish her every success in her new role.”
A successor has yet to be appointed, and Mensah's leaving date is still to be revealed.
