A PROGRAMME made by STV for the BBC has achieved the best ratings in the 5.15pm slot for BBC Two in three years.
Ironically up against STV’s magazine programme, The Hour, BBC Two’s Antiques Road Trip has attracted an average 14 per cent share of the available audience.
The programme sees well-known antiques experts travel across the UK in classic vintage cars, competing against each other to make the most money buying and selling antiques.
The most recent series – the second – has aired daily from Monday to Friday for the last six weeks. It ended on Friday with antiques expert James Lewis crowned overall winner.
During its run, it peaked at 2.8 million viewers (on the fourth of this month) and also got as high as a 16 per cent audience share (on the ninth). On 12 separate occasions, the programme was BBC Two’s most-watched daytime output.
Antiques Road Trip is produced by STV Productions for BBC Two Daytime. STV’s executive producer is Wendy Rattray, while the BBC Exec is Jo Street.
The Hour is broadcast only in Scotland, while Antiques Road Trip is UK-wide.
