A REBRANDED radio station kicked off this morning in Scotland, insodoing joining eight other stations throughout the UK operating by the same, overall name.
Capital Scotland, formerly Galaxy Scotland, began broadcasting with breakfast hosts, Des Clarke and Jennie Cook.
Said a statement issued by the station’s owners, Global Radio: “As well as Des and Jennie, who will now present their breakfast show every weekday between 6am-10am, 105-106 Capital FM will also feature Garry Spence who will present the drive-time slot from 4pm-7pm. Capital FM will also introduce new radio talent to the region, including Roberto on the weekday mid-morning show from 10am-1pm, followed by the Bassman at 1pm-4pm and Rich Clarke between 7pm-11pm.
“The new station offers listeners an established and trusted brand, delivered locally to Scotland. The move by Global Radio, the UK’s largest commercial radio group, is part of a plan to create a strong and trusted network of stations covering major cities in the UK, broadcasting the best hit music to its listeners, as well as the hottest showbiz and artist interviews, the biggest events, local news, traffic and travel.”
Capital Scotland joins eight other stations across the UK to form the Capital Network: Yorkshire, North East, Manchester, Birmingham, East Midlands, Wales, South Coast and London.
