BBC Reporting Scotland presenter, Jackie Bird, appears to have big celebrity ambitions, if today's Scottish Sun is anything to go by.
Reporting her forthcoming co-hosting of BBC Scotland's Hogmanay Show, the paper has her hoping to next year appear in EastEnders, River City, I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! and Strictly Come Dancing, the last arguably the biggest of her ambitions.
Under the heading, 'I'm a Celebirdy – Get Me in There!', the paper reports: “Telly newsreader Jackie Bird has revealed she wants to appear in I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!. She also admitted she'd love to appear in EastEnders and River City – or strut her stuff on Strictly Come Dancing.
“But the BBC's Reporting Scotland anchor's immediate concern is holding it together for the Hogmanay Live show. She said: ‘I love New Year. It's a fresh start to try new things.”
Perhaps tongue-in-cheek, Bird is further quoted, saying: “Next year I hope to do more writing, finish a documentary that's in the pipeline, appear on EastEnders and River City then get invited on to Strictly Come Dancing. I am addicted to Strictly. My Saturday nights are ruined now it's finished. I'd also love to do I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! – I'm not scared of bugs.”
