Edinburgh-based radio station, Radio Forth, has got itself a new programme director.
Scot, Brian Paige, takes up the position, having previously been senior programmer for a clutch of stations in the North-West of England. The former Ayrshire-based Westsound Radio presenter takes up the job in November.
Announcing the appointment, Forth's station director, Cathy Kirk, said: “I am delighted Brian is returning home to take on this key role at Radio Forth. Our audience is at the heart of everything we do, and having great local contact and superb musicality is key to our success.
“He is a highly talented programme director, with over 20 years' experience and a real understanding of the Scottish market. He is also commercially astute and I am confident he will make an immediate positive impact at Radio Forth.”
Brian began his career at Westsound Radio in Ayrshire presenting the evening show before moving to South West Sound in Dumfries to head up their programming team.
He returned to Ayr 13 years ago to assist in the launch of West FM and co-host the breakfast show with Suzie Maguire and moved south of the border eight years ago to become programme director of Rock FM in Lancashire.
Radio Forth is part of the Bauer Media group, which also operates, among others, Radio Clyde and Northsound.
More recently, Paige has been with UTV Media (GB), as senior programmer for various stations in the North-West of England.
