NORTHSOUND, the Aberdeen-based commercial radio station, has been recognised for its work in the local community.
Judges at the ‘Trend Life with Style Awards’ highly commended the station’s Cash for Kids campaign, after being impressed by its drive to raise £200,000 a year for needy youngsters in North-east Scotland.
Organised by Trend, the glossy monthly lifestyle Aberdeen magazine, the awards showcased the “exceptional talent that contributes to all that’s exciting in life in the North-east”. The awards ceremony was attended by more than 350 guests.
Collecting the award for Northsound – which is part of a string of Scottish radio stations owned by Bauer Media – was charity manager, Michelle Herd.
The awards ceremony was hosted by Trend columnist, Peter Mitchell, who was the diarist on local newspaper, the Press and Journal, before he retired recently.
