A SECPND series of a daytime antiques programme broadcast on the BBC has been commissioned from makers, STV.
The BBC has today confirmed that its Daytime department has commissioned a second series of Antiques Road Trip, which challenges two antiques experts to make the most money from their purchases.
The first series has attracted audiences of up to 2.6 million.
30 new episodes have been commissioned, with each show’s duration increased from 30 to 45 minutes.
Jo Street, Daytime’s commissioning executive, Scotland and Northern Ireland, will executive produce the series for the BBC. Wendy Rattray will executive produce for STV.
Transmission on BBC Two will be from this autumn.
Says Liam Keelan, controller BBC Daytime: “Antiques Road Trip was a wonderfully feel-good series, which travelled the length and breadth of the country. It has proved to be hugely popular with our audience, and I’m really delighted to be able to commit to another new series.”
