A DOCUMENTARY series, going behind the scenes at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, in Edinburgh, is to begin airing on STV, from Tuesday.
It’s the first time the school has thrown its doors open to TV cameras.
Says Michael McAvoy, executive producer at STV: “I think people will be astonished to see the amazing work that goes on at The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies.”
The series is over five episodes.
Adds McAvoy: “In one stunning location you can get to see cats and dogs undergoing crucial operations, exotic birds getting their beaks checked, skunks getting neutered and in one episode we even see how the vets deal with a goat with a phantom pregnancy. The variety of work is breathtaking and I think viewers will not only learn a lot more about animals, but will also be caught up in the emotions of stories that really show how much we Scots love our pets.”
The first transmission is at 8pm.
