A FORMER presenter on BBC Radio 5 live – Scot, Allan Robb – has died, aged 49. He had been battling multiple sclerosis.
Once a journalist on BBC Scotland news flagship, Reporting Scotland, he began his career with Aberdeen-based radio station, Northsound.
In a BBC report, the head of news and current affairs at BBC Scotland, Atholl Duncan, is quoted, saying he would be “fondly remembered by his many colleagues on Reporting Scotland as an extremely professional presenter and a highly skilled and tenacious journalist”.
With 5 live, he presented, for several years, the midday news.
Fellow Scots broadcaster, Nicky Campbell, who co-presents the BBC Radio 5 live breakfast show, is reported saying it is one of the saddest days of his life. The pair had been friends since childhood.
