THE company behind the near-live screening of Scottish Premier League football matches on BBC ALBA has promoted its sports editor to the post of managing director.
Margot McCuaig becomes MD of mneTV, the sports and entertainment TV production company, following the re-designation of former MD, Allan Mac Donald, as chief executive, earlier this month.
McCuaig joined the company as sports editor in June 2008 following four years with Setanta Television, where she produced the daily magazine show on the Celtic TV channel, as well as writing and directing documentaries and one-off specials.
She previously spent ten years with Celtic Football Club when she travelled extensively with the team, producing, directing and presenting programmes for the club’s in-house media service.
As well as being editor of the company’s varied sports output, which includes the Spòrs weekly outside broadcast of Scottish Premier League Football matches for BBC ALBA – and the monthly magazine show, Club TV, which features exclusive, behind-the-scenes stories from both Celtic and Rangers – McCuaig is currently also director of development for the company, one of the biggest independent producers in Scotland.
Last week, mneTV moved into the former Glasgow, Pacific Quay offices of Setanta Television, located within the headquarters of STV.
