WITH a suitably frosty-looking masthead, the BBC in-house newspaper, Ariel, was published today, bearing a full-page front cover pic of BBC Scotland reporter, Julie Peacock, and cameraperson, Brian Ashman.
They were photographed interviewing skiers and snowboarders at Cairngorm ski centre.
Said the accompanying caption: “Snow sports enthusiasts were in heaven.”
But you get the feeling that perhaps Julie and Brian weren’t quite so, from the remainder of the caption: “…but the extreme cold caused technical problems for the news team.
“Apart from keeping themselves warm in temperatures as low as -30C, batteries lost power in minutes, tapes froze and snapped, and the fine, powdery snow got into the equipment.”
