STUDENTS on a new, university degree in television production are to enjoy, among other things, work placements, masterclasses and an end-of-year showcasing of their creative projects, to be provided by STV.
It follows a partnership struck between STV and Edinburgh Napier University and its BA (Hons) Television course.
Says STV’s chief executive Rob Woodward: “With this exciting new agreement we continue to build on our existing relationship with Edinburgh Napier and other higher education institutions across Scotland.
“Working closely with Edinburgh Napier University is a good example of our commitment to supporting and nurturing new creative talent and growing the skills base in Scotland, and it offers an invaluable opportunity for under graduates to gain hands on experience in television and online production and get a head start in their careers.”
Earlier this year, STV announced details of a new graduate placement initiative, through which students at University of the West of Scotland, Glasgow Caledonian University, Edinburgh Napier University and Robert Gordon University were invited to apply for two, paid work placements based within STV’s Content and News teams.
