ONLY one application to run a commercial radio station in Fife has been received by the broadcasting regulators, Ofcom – from the incumbent station, Kingdom FM.
Because the current FM licence expires in October next year, Ofcom had invited applicants for the next one, to last until December 31 2015.
But by Tuesday’s deadline for applications, only Kingdom FM had responded, thus prompting Ofcom to declare: “[We are] therefore inviting the incumbent licensee to re-apply for the licence under the ‘fast-track’ procedure as set out in [our] guidelines.”
