WHAT it is like being a celebrity and the subject of fly-on-the-wall TV is the latest addition to the programme of this year’s Edinburgh International Television Festival.
The festival, sponsored by the MediaGuardian and taking place later this month, will feature Peter Andre who – along with his now estranged wife, Katie Price, formerly known as Jordan – has recently been the subject of Katie & Peter: The Next Chapter Stateside, on ITV2 and franchised around the world.
Also taking part will be the programme’s executive producer, Neville Hendricks.
Billed as a masterclass, the session will look at the importance of matching the crew with the talent, the impact of being filmed 24/7 and where the franchise will go from here following the couple’s recent split.
Peter Andre made a name for himself in the ’90s as a singer-songwriter, achieving eight top five singles in the UK alone, including four No.1s.
His most successful release to date came with the release of ‘Mysterious Girl’, which sold over two million copies worldwide, making it the highest-selling single of 1996.
Since they both met on the ITV series, I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, Andre and Price have been the subject of constant ‘Reality TV’.
The festival is taking place between the 28th and 30th of this month.
Other key speakers include James Murdoch, chair and chief executive of News Corporation, Europe and Asia; Gerhard Zeiler, chief executive of RTL Group; Robert Peston, the BBC’s RTS award-winning business editor; Peter Fincham, Director of Television, ITV; Ofcom’s Ed Richards; Ashley Highfield, managing director and and vice-president, Consumer and Online, Microsoft UK; ITV stars, Ant and Dec; The Wire creator, David Simon; and actor, Ross Kemp.
