TV viewers in Scotland are, on average, more interested in news than their counterparts anywhere else in the UK.
According to figures released by the broadcasting regulators, Ofcom, Scots last year each watched an average 129 hours of news on the television each year, compared to the UK figure of 116.
The figures were produced as part of review of public service broadcasting.
In more detail, the average Scot last year watched 96 hours of UK-wide news programmes and 33 hours of regional news ones, ie from BBC Scotland and STV. In the UK as a whole, the average viewer tuned in to 89 hours of UK-wide news programming and 27 hours of regional ones.
Meanwhile, for Wales the split was 84-25 and in Northern Ireland, 75-38.
