DUNDEE radio station, Wave 102, has announced two presenter appointments, including for its breakfast slot.
From Monday, Dave Price takes charge of the station’s breakfast show, while John Burns joins the weekend roster.
Price has joined Wave 102 from Radio Tay, part of the Bauer Media Group, which, in pooling programmes – starting this week – across its Scottish AM frequency stations (including Tay, but also the likes of Clyde 2 and Forth 2), has had to shed presenters.
Says programme controller, David Moran, of Price’s appointment: “He is a presenter of enormous calibre with a very impressive track record most of which has been spent building a loyal and consistent following across Dundee while at Radio Tay.”
Meanwhile, Burns – whose weekday job is heading up the traffic news service that supplies all of Scotland’s top radio stations – most recently presented on Real Radio Scotland.
Wave 102 was last year bought from UTV by Adam Findlay, a former managing director of Radio Forth.
Said Burns: “Wave 102 is a great station, I worked there before but the new owners have breathed a new lease of life in to it. The people of Dundee love a good party and the new management are entirely locally focussed.”
Price replaces Ronny Costello who will working on other projects with the station, while Burns succeeds Andy Morgan – who was a temporary presenter with Wave 102.
