BEGINS Severin Carrell, in the Guardian: “BBC executives are pressing for the Corporation to commission a flagship ‘Scottish Six’ news programme to help answer growing complaints about its weak coverage of Scottish affairs, the Guardian has learned.
“Executives in BBC Scotland are expected to lobby Tony Hall, the Corporation’s director-general, to agree to the proposal when he comes to Glasgow next week to attend a meeting of its governing body, the BBC Trust, which will also be briefed on the plan.”

THE next date for an annual dinner-dance in Scotland on behalf of the Journalists’ Charity has been set.
The Press Ball is a fixture on the media social calendar and the 2016 version is taking place on March 5 – at the Radisson Blu, in Glasgow.
Run by the Glasgow and West of Scotland branch of the Journalists’ Charity, tables of ten can be purchased for £550.

YESTERDAY, allmediascotland.com pointed readers to an article in The Herald concerning recent reporting by the BBC of the ‘Glasgow bin lorry crash’ tragedy.
The article said the Lord Advocate was unhappy with it.
And now, in today’s Herald, the BBC is reported hitting back “at stinging criticism from prosecutors over its recent documentary on Glasgow’s bin lorry crash, saying it stood by the ‘integrity and accuracy of its journalism’.”
