THE picture editor is in the thick of the action at The Press and Journal – where great images can make or break a story.
The ideal person for this role knows what makes a good picture, is well organised and cool under pressure.
You will be responsible for our fast-paced picture operation: monitoring and organising pictures from agencies around the world, the UK and Scotland, while directing our own photographers and freelance photographers.
This is a key role which demands quick reactions, excellent leadership and team skills – the picture editor works hand-in-hand with our news, sports, business and features desks. Keeping our website ahead of the competition with the latest pictures is essential.
Previous relevant experience in a newsroom or online news environment is preferable.
