IF you ever have to do a ‘piece to camera’/speak directly into the lens of a video camera, and would rather not have to remember all your lines, then you need a prompter of some sort.
Or, instead, you might have a speech or presentation to make to a live audience and would rather not have to be looking down at a printed script all of the time.
If you have an iPad, there is a free teleprompter (aka autocue) available on iTunes.
What it does is take your script and the text will roll across your iPad screen at three words per second (or, if you’d rather, at a different speed).
Forty-two reviews (at the time of writing) give it 4.5-out-of-five stars.
There is a pro version available, for £4.99 – which offers, various additional features, including the facility to bounce the text off a mirror.
Take a look, here.
Now, perhaps, the biggest challenge is how to safely tape your iPad to the tripod for your camera.
