CHAMPAGNE has been flowing following a Scottish courier firm’s record-breaking delivery for an international parcel company.
From the click of a mouse to the front door in less than 14 minutes, that’s how fast a package was delivered to one flabbergasted online shopper.
Eagle Couriers, Scotland’s largest independent courier service, was responsible for the delivery through its partnership with Shutl, who have recently been acquired by eBay as they strive to achieve same-day delivery for local goods.
In recognition of Eagle Couriers’ superior service, Shutl sent out a package of its own, congratulating the firm’s success with a bottle of bubbly, delivered to its Bathgate headquarters.
Paul Ellis, head of operations at Shutl, said: “We believe our partnership with Eagle Couriers has led to yet another new record in ecommerce delivery for Shutl, from online order to delivery within 13 mins and 57 secs.
“As we expand our business in Scotland, we look forward to working with Eagle Couriers and are confident that its large fleet of highly skilled drivers can continue to break records in the future.
“It’s a real pleasure to work with such a responsive team who share our commitment to improving the online shopping experience and delivering what shoppers want, when they want it.”
After being picked up from the Aberdeen branch of Argos at 12.04, the parcel was in the hands of its stunned but delighted owner by 12.18, one minute and one second quicker than their previous speedy record.
Working in partnership with Eagle Couriers, Shutl provides shoppers with two delivery options where customers can either get an immediate delivery within 90 minutes of purchase or choose a convenient one hour window.
As an international company, Shutl use a network of best-in-class, local courier firms across the globe to achieve its speedy delivery promise, guaranteeing its customers satisfaction.
Jerry Stewart, managing director of Eagle Couriers, said: “Having worked in the logistics industry for most of my life and with nearly 25 years at the forefront of Eagle Couriers, I have seen how the trade has evolved and developed.
“Convenience for customers is now at the very heart of the service. We all lead increasingly busy lives and simply don’t have the time to be waiting at home all day for a delivery that might not even arrive.
“We are fully committed to the ethos behind Shutl and were thrilled when they aligned themselves with Eagle Couriers and are extremely pleased to already be delivering such positive, record breaking results.”
Counting large retailers such as Schuh, Warehouse and Argos among its clients and specialising in such specific and tight delivery windows, Shutl requires its couriers to have a high degree of experience and expertise.
Thus, the very fact that Shutl have entrusted Eagle Couriers as its exclusive Scottish partner, cements its reputation as the country’s top independent courier service.
Eagle Couriers provide safe and quick logistics services to organisations across the private, public and third sectors as well as working directly with consumers.
