FRESH insights on last year’s inquiry into Press standards – conducted by Lord Leveson – are promised in a speech taking place this evening in Glasgow by the general-secretary of the National Union of Journalists.
Michelle Stanistreet is also expected to discuss more recent concerns, involving pay-offs to senior managers at the BBC.
The union was provided the opportunity to take part in the Leveson Inquiry, but only after a fight to be heard.
Stanistreet is speaking at the STUC headquarters – at 333 Woodlands Road, Glasgow.
Doors open 6.30pm, for a 7pm start.
