A FILM made by a recent graduate from the Edinburgh College of Art has been shortlisted in one of the most best-known documentary filmmaking competitions.
Ilona Kacieja, who graduated this Summer, has been nominated in the Best Student Documentary category of the British Documentary Awards, perhaps better known as the Grierson Awards, named after the acknowledged ‘father’ of documentary filmmaking – Scot, John Grierson.
Her nomination is for Red Dust.
The awards, now in their 41st year, also sees Scot, Callum Macrae, named in the Best Documentary on Current Affairs category, for a film about civil war in Sri Lanka.
The winners will be announced on November 4.
