THE early evening news programme from BBC Scotland, Reporting Scotland, can be watched, live, on tablets and smartphones.
The new service was launched yesterday and includes BBC Scotland’s lunchtime news output too.
In a BBC Scotland statement, head of news and current affairs, John Boothman, is quoted, as saying: “The nature of news consumption by our audiences is changing all the time and I’m delighted we can now offer the option of watching Reporting Scotland live and on the move.
“Members of our audiences who are out and about with a tablet or smartphone can now stay connected to our flagship live television news programmes.
“We know that viewers are increasingly consuming their news in a variety of ways, not just through the television screen. When they’re out and about they now have the option of tuning into Reporting Scotland as it happens.”
