A NEW newspaper has been launched, serving East Renfrewshire.
The East Renfrewshire Press is free and will be distributed to the likes of Clarkston, Giffnock, Newton Mearns, Barrhead and Neilston.
The fortnightly title is now the third within the Glasgow Press group, the others being the Govan Press and the SouthSide Press (both also free).
All three come out every alternate Friday, with the print run for the trio adding up to some 35,000 copies.
The geographical area covered by the SouthSide Press has been scaled back a little to accommodate the arrival of the East Renfrewshire Press.
The Glasgow Press was set up five years ago by John Maclean who began with the Govan Press on a monthly basis and supplemented his income by doing sub-editing shifts at The Scottish Sun. These last two years, he has been full-time on the Glasgow Press, as editorial director, alongside sales director, Lesley McComiskey.
A digital version of the debut issue of the ERP can be seen here.
