LOCAL media provision in the form of a co-operative is to be the subject of a conference in Glasgow next month, with an invitation to attend being extended to community activists, journalists and media professionals.
Hosting the event, on how the co-operative model of running an organisation might sustain local news provision, is Co-operatives UK, the trade association for co-operative businesses.
It is free to attend is part of an UK-wide tour, beginning in London.
The Glasgow event is on June 18, from 6pm to 8.30pm.
Scotland is notable in having the UK’s only employee-owned local newspaper: the West Highland Free Press.
